Cylance Pro Cycling achieved its first National Champion of the year as Sheyla Gutiérrez wins the Spanish National Championships road race. It was an emotional win for Sheyla as she crossed the line for an emphatic win.
Having won the U23 title for two years, and finishing 3rd in the elites previously, Sheyla was overjoyed to be crowned national champion. Sheyla also finished a strong 3rd place in the Spanish National Time Trial Championships. This is Sheyla’s second win of the year after a strong start to the season at the Spring Classics, but a win she will be reminded of every time she lines visit this website up wearing her nation’s national championship jersey at every road race.
“I’m really happy with this title. honestly, I think I really deserved it” explains Sheyla. “I reach a very high level in the first part of the season but I was crossing a tough moment recently and I was not in good shape. This give me courage again to keep working and achieve again the level.”

Sheyla dedicated the victory to her aunt, who had been suffering from some health issues which made Sheyla rush home from the races to attend to her family. “This victory is for my aunt Begoña. I’m so glad she is alive and well to see me win this,” she said with a tear in her eye. Sheyla’s first race in her new championship colors will be at the Giro Rosa, where she will be joining 6 of her other teammates for the iconic 10 day race through Italy.

Cylance Pro Cycling Shows Worldwide Strength at National Championships
Cylance Pro Cycling had thirteen riders competing in seven countries over this last weekend where the majority of countries hold their national championships. The team showed its depth in international strength as the riders attained strong results worldwide.

Murphy and Alison Tetrick both finished 6th place in the USA Pro National Championships Time Trial. The USA is known for incredible depth in the race against the clock and both Alison and Kyle showed they are some of the strongest riders in the country.
Kyle attacked the course with a concentrated pacing effort as he continued to get faster as the race progressed, eventually posting one of the fastest laps of the day. “One of my big goals of the race was to have a negative split” says Kyle. “I am happy with my effort, and there is always room for improvement. A big thank you to Cylance Pro Cycling for the support.”
Alison began her time trial in an earlier wave as the morning rain began to cease throughout her effort, and decisively set the time standard for the day as the fastest rider. She was in the hot seat for over an hour as no other rider could best her time. As the final five riders finished their race, Alison had to settle for a sixth place finish, but showed her tenacity and prowess in this discipline. “I have to be proud of my race because I did my best, and remained calm and focused. I really benefited from having such good and positive support there for me, I was able to not have pressure, and have fun in the time trial to have a smooth, strong, and steady race. It was an overall great experience in Knoxville, until I crashed in the road race and that was a frustrating disappointment” says Alison.
On a different continent, Rossella Ratto (ITA) and Malgorzata Jasinska (POL) tackled their own National championships to finish 4th and 5h respectively in the race of truth. Rossella displayed her world class power at the Italian National Championships in both the road race and the time trial. Rossella, a previous world championship medalist, followed up her fourth place in the individual time trial, just mere seconds shy of the podium, with a savvy fourth place finish in the road race. Jasi finished 5th in the Poland National Championships Time Trial.
“Rossella has all the talent and ability to be one of the best riders” says Manel. “I am happy to see her performing well, and know she is capable of winning big races.”
